Bmf brutalist set – ashtray, cigarette box and vase – germany, 1970s

General Description:
Set of three decorative accessories by BMF, featuring the characteristic Brutalist design language of the 1970s.

The trio includes an ashtray, a cylindrical box, probably intended for cigarettes, and a vase. All three pieces share the same aesthetic vocabulary: clean satin-finished metal forms combined with heavily textured outer surfaces with an almost organic appearance, typical of German Brutalist design from this period.

The contrast between the smooth machined metal sections and the dark, irregular, highly sculptural surfaces gives the set a particularly strong visual presence.

The ashtray has a wide, low profile with several cigarette rests around the rim. The cylindrical box is fitted with a removable lid, while the vase has a tall, narrow form set on a broad circular foot.

Together, the three pieces form a coherent and decorative ensemble, highly representative of European Brutalist design from the 1970s.
