The collaboration between Charles Cart and Le Cyclope factory began in the 1950s and 1960s, when Charles Cart, a ceramicist based in Annecy, created iconic works under the name "Émaux des Glaciers." Cart is particularly recognized for his volcanic glaze technique, or "fat lava," which mimics the textures of glaciers, offering crater effects and deep colors in turquoise, black, and white. This unique style attracted attention for its bold shapes and icy textures, marking the era of French artisanal pieces.
