Original work made in Indian ink by Hans Beers, a Dutch artist trained at the Academy of St.-Joost in Breda, active in Antwerp from the 1970s. This drawing, of great stylistic rarity in his production, represents a complex symbolic scene.
At the center of the composition stands the shape of an atomic skull, sculpted by stylized clouds evoking an explosion. At the bottom of the image, two naked female bodies, lying down, seem to emerge or sink into dense vegetation, as if absorbed by nature or given over to the cycle of vanity.
Each stroke is executed with extreme precision; the quality of the gesture evokes an absolute mastery of the medium. This is a work of striking graphic power.
