Italian Fat Lava polychrome ceramic vase with stylised young woman – 1960s

Glazed ceramic vase, probably Italian, dating from the 1960s, with a free-form asymmetrical shape and an undulating opening.
The exterior features a glossy glaze in deep ruby red, burgundy and black tones, with layered enamel effects reminiscent of the Fat Lava productions of the period. The interior provides a strong contrast with its turquoise blue glaze.
The front is decorated with a stylised young woman holding flowers, outlined with fine lines against a black ground and highlighted with touches of red, blue, green and yellow.
With its graphic treatment, colour palette and combination of red and black with a turquoise interior, this piece is stylistically very close to Italian ceramic production of the 1960s, particularly works by Melior and several workshops from San Marino.
A painted monogram is visible in the lower part of the decoration. No maker’s mark has been identified underneath the base, however, so the precise attribution to a specific workshop remains open.
