Black ceramic table lamp base with stylized anthropomorphic silhouette, designed by Gil Agnoloni in the 1950s
Sleek lines and organic curves evoke a kneeling feminine figure, in a modernist spirit that borders on sculpture.
The lamp is sold without a shade – the photo with shade is for presentation purposes only.
This sculptural lighting piece is in very good overall condition. The electrification is fully functional, with a black cord, switch, and European plug. The base is signed "GIL" and marked with the model number "131".
A rare decorative object that sits between art and design, ideal for vintage, brutalist, or mid-century interiors.
Gil Agnoloni (1912–1988) was an Italian artist and designer active in the mid-20th century. He is best known for his sculptural ceramic creations, blending figurative art with modernist forms. His work, at the intersection of sculpture and functional design, is characterized by taut lines, sensual volumes, and a formal language verging on abstraction.
Based in Italy, Agnoloni produced a limited number of decorative and utilitarian objects in the 1950s–1960s, including lamp bases, busts, and stylized figures.
His work belongs to the post-war tradition of Italian studio design, alongside figures such as Marcello Fantoni and Guido Gambone.
