Very large floor sculpture called "Asteroid" or "Sea Urchin", commonly attributed to the Curtis Jere collective (Jerry Fels & Curtis Freiler), active in the United States from the 1960s-70s. The work consists of a dense radiation of stainless steel tubes welded in a spherical sheaf. A sculptural, graphic and spectacular sculpture, evoking the organic forms of sea urchins or solar explosions. Rare in this XXL format, this piece is both a design object and a work of decorative art from the American Mid-Century Modern movement.
