About Arthur Percy and Gullaskruf: Arthur Percy (1886–1976) was a Swedish artist and designer credited with modernizing the aesthetic of Scandinavian glass in the 20th century. Initially a painter and illustrator, he turned to industrial design in the 1920s. His collaboration with the Gullaskruf glassworks, founded in 1893 in southern Sweden, began in the 1940s. There, he developed a clean, organic design language characterized by sleek lines and vibrant colors. The deep-hued, mouth-blown tulip vases perfectly exemplify the functional elegance of postwar Swedish design. These pieces are now sought after for their craftsmanship and timelessness.
