Rare H.500 table lamp base, designed by Norwegian glass designer Severin Brørby for Hadeland Glassverk and marketed by Høvik Verk as part of the Hadeland Series, launched in Norway in 1967.
The substantial green blown-glass body is composed of a succession of volumes and thick sections of glass, creating remarkable effects of depth and transparency. The exterior surface remains perfectly smooth, while variations in the thickness of the glass give the lamp its distinctive architectural appearance.
The H.500 model is precisely documented in the original 1967 Høvik/Hadeland catalogue, where it appears under the designation “H.500 Green”, alongside designs by Willy Johansson and Benny Motzfeldt. The Hadeland Series represented one of Høvik's more exclusive ranges at the time and was closely connected to Hadeland Glassverk's renowned art-glass production.
This example is diamond-point signed underneath the base. The H.500 appears in the period catalogue with different shades depending on the illustration, including references No. 171 and No. 173. The shades were selected by the designers and sold separately. The lampshade shown in some photographs is for illustrative purposes only and is not included in the sale.
The H.500 appears to be particularly rare on the market today.

Condition
Very good vintage condition.
The glass is well preserved, retaining excellent transparency and a rich deep green colour. Minor signs of use consistent with age.
